That label on the blue book would almost be cruel if imagination weren't exactly what I'm hoping my students will bring along when it's their turn.
[Later, an update: Oh, they already did bring the imagination--as I now know because I've compiled the part of their final exam that I let them write! Simply frabjous.]

That tree has become Bird Posing Place #1. When I got up the other morning, that jay was just hanging out. This morning, a nuthatch was actually just lying there on the branch, looking out at the woods. Sweeties.
that blue bird looks like he's flown straight out of a fairytale - i've never seen anything like it!
I miss those Blue Jays. There was a whole family that used to come to that tree. They don't perch anywhere around here long enough to be seen. I often only see their quickly vanishing blue when they've been around this feeder...
